There has been a lively debate online about a locally mentally ill person trespassing on various properties in Barrhead. Many have argued that this person isn't harming anyone and that as a community we should have compassion and show grace to this individual. Others have expressed concern about this person breaking the law by either stealing items, trespassing, and creating fear among children and others who come in close contact.

Sometime been dark last night and 8am on Thursday, August 19 my brothers 1994 Dodge 3500 one ton dually diesel red in colour with black flat deck was stolen along with our 30 ft flat deck with our sprayer tanks and chemical handler and chemical on it. From his bin yard north of mystery lake. I found the trailer this morning at 8 am unhooked in a neighbor’s field but the truck is gone. Searched for pictures only have one and it’s poor. RCMP has been notified. Was an old Ray Agro delivery truck from Barrhead.
Barrhead RCMP is asking for public assistance in locating a 2019 white Ford F250 with headache rack stolen from Barrhead at approximately 5:00 a.m this morning. AB licence plate CDN 3106, unit number 414 may be displayed on tailgate. Vehicle was recently spotted in the Barrhead County. If you see this vehicle, please contact the Barrhead RCMP Detachment at (780)674-2696.
This truck was stolen last night from the empty lot across from Sunnyside Realty. It was to be sold in the Parsons Auctions consignment auction coming up. Police have yet to answer any calls for us to report it but hoping we can enlist the public’s help in locating it.
A 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab diesel truck was stolen from a garage around 5:30 this morning in Legal, Alberta. According to a post circulating on social media the thieves started the truck and smashed through the Garage door after sneaking on to the rural property. The owner reported that the truck was in an accident near Redwater and 2 individuals were arrested without injuries. The truck has been badly damaged.
This post is going around the Barrhead and Westlock area after a couple in a BMW was captured in security footage during a break and enter in the Jarvie area.
"Can anyone identify these 2 people in the pictures? They are wanted for a B&E in the Jarvie area. It is believed they could be from the Barrhead or Fort Assiniboine area.
Any friends in the Westlock/Athabasca area, know someone missing a BMW or recognize these lovely people."
Two individuals decided to help themselves to farm fuel on August 4th at 3:30 in the morning. Both Barrhead and Westlock RCMP have been notified. If anyone recognizes these vehicles, please let us know. This happened on Hwy 654, RR14 at Semler Farms.
